RV Rentals at PleasureLand

If you’ve always wanted an RV but other obligations preclude you from getting financing; or if you are not sure that the RV lifestyle is for you – even for a weekend – consider renting an RV. You can rent an RV to see if you like it – or you can rent an RV for a vacation if your financial situation won’t let you buy right now.

PleasureLand RV Center has four locations and many floor plans. You can find us in St. Cloud, Ramsey, Brainerd and Willmar. And, for the summer of 2014, you’ll get unlimited mileage on any motorhome rental.

If you’ve never been RVing, you’ll learn that it’s all about the flexibility, freedom and fun. We offer affordable rates on current year models – and no hidden fees. Plus, you can take a longer vacation for less money when you rent an RV—and if you don’t like the place you are staying; it’s easy to move to another place.

Visit and stay at national parks, music festivals, NASCAR races, sporting events and more. An RV with a walk-on roof is perfect to take to the races. You don’t have to sit in the crowded stands to see everything – just get on top of the RV: Tall people in front of you won’t be able to block your view.

Renting an RV also has other benefits. You can explore places that you’ve never been before – places that don’t have a hotel nearby or the hotel is just too expensive for the entire family. And, with an RV, you don’t have to eat out for every meal. You’ll save a ton of money by cooking your own meals at “home.”

If you want to travel a long distance but prefer not to fly and don’t want to go through the hassle of renting a car or finding somewhere to eat out every day, rent an RV from PleasureLand RV Center and drive. You’ll be able to stop and see sights along the way and can take your time getting to your destination.

Choose from Class A, Class C, travel trailer and folding camper rentals. We have floor plans that sleep from four to 10 people. We also have “extras” such as a kitchen kit, a personal kit, pick up and drop off and a cleaning service.

Extreme RV adventurers want to take their vehicles on all types of terrain, and sometimes large motorhomes and travel trailers just won’t do the job. That’s why Palomino RV created the 2014 Backpack — a hard-shell RV that sits on the back of your truck, so you can set up camp just about anywhere.

The Backpack HS-8801 Layout

When you enter through the rear of your brand new 2014 Backpack HS-8801, you’ll see the spacious bathroom and shower area on your left and a large utility cabinet to your right. The queen bed at the top of the camper makes for a perfect sleeping area with a TV stand, two chests, two night stands and an escape vent for roof access or star gazing. The Backpack HS-8801 is the perfect truck camper for travelers who want to rest comfortably, but still enjoy all of the freedoms of traveling in a truck.

Five-Star Features

Choosing to purchase a truck camper doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice all of the luxuries of full-size RVs. The Backpack HS-8801 comes standard with LED interior lighting, residential-style Beauflor flooring, mortise and tenon maple hardwood cabinetry and a fully-laminated, walk-on roof.

If you’re looking for a few extra frills to make your next camping experience the most enjoyable one yet, you can opt for a microwave in the kitchen, rear and side awnings, air conditioning or the ultra-stylish pearl hi-gloss exterior fiberglass. Although the mega waterpark is closed for the season, add it to your spring getaway calendar when it reopens from May to September next year.

Facts About the Divide

The Continental Divide runs from Canada to Mexico and spans multiple states including New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana for approximately 3000 miles. The U.S. portion runs from Montana’s Glacier National Park, south through the Rockies, and on to New Mexico and the Mexican border.

The scenic and rugged terrain of the Continental Divide navigates through an array of ecosystems. From mountain meadows and high-desert plateaus to massive granite peaks, the Divide offers challenging hiking trails, scenic landscapes, and picturesque vistas. It is nature at its best with endless examples of unspoiled beauty, incredible open expanses, pristine wilderness, alpine forests, miles of Saguaro cactus, mountain peaks, and an abundance of wildlife.

Exploring the Continental Divide

Hiking and backpacking along the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail is one way explore. Another option is riding and discovering the peace and serenity of the backcountry on a motorcycle. Traveling the Divide in a recreational vehicle provides the best of both worlds by having your mobile home-away-from home for camping along the way at area campgrounds and RV resorts.

Planning Your Trip

When visiting, it’s important to plan your trip according to the season. Weather conditions will vary from state to state and inclement conditions may be encountered. Sand storms, torrential rain, flash floods, and snow and ice are conditions to be expected on the Divide. It’s also important to be prepared with plenty of food, water, fuel, and cell phone as many portions of the trip will be long stretches of wide open expanses.

Contact PleasureLand RV Center whenever your plans involve over-the-road traveling. With an extensive inventory, our knowledgeable staff will have you in the recreational vehicle of your dreams so you can explore and discover the ultimate adventure known as the “Great Divide.”

Three Ideas for National Picnic Month

RV Picnic with PleasureLand

It’s National Picnic Month, and that means, well, picnics, all month long. If you’ve ever driven off of the lot of an RV dealership, then National Picnic Month is just another name for “August,” and “September,” and “October” and about nine other months, for that matter.

In any event, when National Picnic Month rolls around, we may as well take the time to honor that the rest of the country is having fun doing the same thing that we do all year round. Here are a few ideas for ways to celebrate the event:

Picnic at the Grand Canyon

You really can’t ask for greater scenery for your picnic, and you can’t ask for a more American setting, either. There are guided tours at the Grand Canyon that offer lunch as part of the deal, but you might prefer to simply park as near to the edge as you can with some home-made subs and potato salad.

Try a Five Star Picnic

We’ve all had our share of ribs and corn on the cob and beer at a picnic, so why not step it up a notch for Picnic Month and mix some five star gourmet ingredients into the mix? Try short ribs marinated in Cognac, or your own favorite liquor, and sandwiches with fancy bleu cheese and Boar’s Head turkey. Finish it off with a bottle of chardonnay or a good microbrew and you can transform a normal picnic into the sort of picnic a food snob would go nuts for.

Chicken Crusted in Everything

Fried chicken is one of the staples of a good picnic, especially in Minnesota, so keep things lively by trying out a variety of crusts. Try rolling your chicken in breadcrumbs, crushed corn flakes, potato chips, corn chips, pork rinds, Rice Krispies, whole wheat crackers, crushed peanuts, sliced almonds, and everything else you can think of.

The truth is that, for anyone who’s been shopping at PleasureLand RV, picnics aren’t just a fun thing to do for lunch, picnics are a lifestyle. All the same, why not take National Picnic Month as an opportunity to experiment a little with the grand tradition?

Ready to start touring the country and having a picnic for every meal? Come check out our inventory today!

Healthy Meal Choices

Screen Shot 2013-07-25 at 3.34.32 PM When it comes to finding the perfect new or used recreational vehicle, travelers anticipating a getaway weekend or extended vacation have access to one of four convenient RV dealership Minneapolis locations at PleasureLand RV Center. Whether it’s a Class A, B, or C ride, travel trailer, pop-up camper or fifth wheel, travelers can count on PleasureLand to have just what they need.

While traveling across the highways and byways, one thing that’s required every day is eating and when you’re on the road, sometimes eating fast food and unhealthy snacks becomes the norm versus eating healthy, nutritious meals. For your next RVing adventure, consider adding these suggestions to your daily menu. Your body will thank you by providing more energy to enjoy all the things you want to do while on vacation.

Snacks

Snack time doesn’t have to be about potato chips or candy bars. There are several items easily prepared ahead of time that provide healthy alternatives.

No sugar raspberry muffins will fill the bill as a snack or for breakfast. The natural sweeteners include shredded coconut, unsweetened applesauce, vanilla, almond milk and maple syrup.

Banana oatmeal bread is another healthy item as the recipe calls for pureed sweet potato combined with bananas, shredded coconut, coconut milk, vanilla, cinnamon and cacao chips. The lack of granulated sugar and the use of healthy sweet potatoes and natural sugar alternatives make this bread a winner.

Meal Ideas

Make tuna, ham or chicken salad with low fat mayonnaise to serve atop a bed of lettuce and tomatoes or to fill green, yellow or red peppers for lunch or dinner.

A delicious and nutritious dish is Waldorf Salad made with fresh apples, raisons, celery, walnuts, grapes and low fat mayonnaise or plain yogurt. Add sliced cooked chicken breast to make a hearty meal.

Serve cottage cheese or vanilla yogurt with assorted fruit such as blueberries, strawberries, bananas, pineapple and apples and top with assorted nuts or granola cereal. Perfect for breakfast or late night snack.

Gluten free spinach lasagna is full of flavor. The healthy part of this recipe is the use of ground turkey or Italian turkey sausage versus ground beef combined with low fat cottage cheese. Baby spinach serves as the lining between layers versus lasagna noodles.

Beverages

Keep the sugar content to a minimum and stay hydrated by replacing sweet soda with fresh fruit drinks, unsweetened tea and plenty of water. Add fresh lemon or lime juice or flavored crystals to water for a flavorful and quenching drink.

Get all your ducks in a row for your next trip by scheduling a service or repair appointment at PleasureLand RV then load up the family, bring along some good food and head out on the highway for exploration and adventure.

The 2014 Truck Camper Palomino Bronco

Screen Shot 2013-07-25 at 2.58.37 PM When we first set out to indulge in the RV lifestyle, most of us start out by eyeballing the big, luxurious RVs, the ones that take a special license to drive and which serve as basically a middle class home on wheels. These are great, if you have the money and the time and you need all that space. Some of us do, and some of us don’t. If you don’t, then you may be surprised at how roomy and comfortable some of the better truck campers can be.

In particular, the new 2014 Palomino Bronco is downright inspiring in just how much living space they were able to pack onto the back of a truck. It’s really all in the storage space. Everything from the seating to the bed doubles as a storage area, and this seriously cuts down on clutter. The closet storage on the right when you walk in barely takes up much space, either.

The bed is comfy enough at 60″ by 80″ which makes it perfect for one person, and doable for two. The camper is a pop-up, which means that you get great clearance, no more worrying about losing your camper under every low-hanging bridge. The kitchenette is a little bit cozy, but let’s be honest, if you’re riding around in a camper, you’re going to be doing a lot of cooking out, so all that really matters is that the ice box is roomy enough to host a whole cookout.

The dual range offers real gas cooking, while the A/C ensures that you’ll enjoy even the hottest summer months and stay cool no matter what’s cooking.

Although many of us think of the RV lifestyle as strictly an “RV” deal, new RVers would be advised to seriously consider a camper. Maintenance is easier with a truck camper, truck campers cost less than RVs, and as the Palomino Bronco proves, you don’t have to sacrifice comfort to live out of your truck.
