Minnesota is one of the country’s best states for outdoor fun. With scores of campgrounds, state parks, and wildlife preserves, there’s always a new area to explore. Take Flandrau State Park, for example: it’s got diverse terrain, a sand-bottom swimming pond, the Big Cottonwood River that meanders through the southern portion of the park, and historic stone buildings. Enjoy landscapes of wooded river bottoms, oxbow marshes, and open grasslands.
Cross-country hiking is extremely popular in the park due to the diversity of the terrain. Visitors also enjoy swimming, nature watching, and camping opportunities. Native species include white-tailed deer, raccoons, and dozens of bird species.
The park was founded in the 1940s and named to honor Charles E. Flandrau, who helped to draft the first Minnesota constitution and was a member of the first Minnesota Supreme Court.

Minnesota is full of wonderful state parks to explore, and they’re especially lovely in the summer. Sibley State Park has something for just about everyone.
The park, located in west-central Minnesota, is a popular destination, drawing over 300,000 visitors annually. Sitting on over 3,400 acres it’s home to Mount Tom (the highest point in a 50-mile radius), forests, prairie knolls, and lakes. In the summer, visitors can expect to enjoy swimming, boating, and fishing on the largest lake, Lake Andrew. Canoe routes are charted on Henschien Lake and Swan Lake. The park also offers campgrounds, a group center, horseback camps, picnic areas, and interpretive ranger programs year-round.
The landscape is dominated by oak, red cedar, ironwood, green ash, aspen, maple, and basswood. Wildlife includes white-tailed deer, red and gray fox, coyote, raccoon, ruffed grouse, chipmunks, red and gray squirrels, mink striped skunks, badgers, and woodchucks.

Situated along the beautiful St. Croix River in Minnesota, Interstate State Park is one of the better state parks in the state. The park as tons of activities and plenty of interesting features to explore.
You can climb the cliffs of the St. Croix River Dalles, canoe the flat-water, kayak on the rapids, or just relax on an excursion boat. The geology of the park is fascinating; at least 10 different lava flows are exposed around the park, as well as two distinct glacial deposits, traces of old streams, and plenty of valleys and faults. The lava flows are the result of earthquakes from 1.1 billion years ago that opened rifts in the ground and allowed magma to release. The park was hit by advancing and receding ancient seas up until 70 million years ago, which deposited plenty of fossils along the cliffs.
The park is a great place to hike and explore during the summer since the terrain is varied and provides plenty of surprises. As you hike you can view wildlife that are endemic to the region, such as white-tailed deer, skunks, raccoons, squirrels, and various birds. The park has an abundant population of owls, which you can hear if it’s quiet near evening.

Rock Fest XVII is set for July 13, 14, and 15 in Cadott, Wisonsin, and if you’re a rock lover it’s one music festival that you’re not going to want to miss.
The lineup is phenomenal this year with dozens of bands and artists taking to the stage over the festival’s 3 days.

There’s nothing quite like attending a music fest in your RV. Head to Wisconsin to check out one of the country’s biggest country music festivals.
Country Fest is happening June 22 to June 25 in Cadott, Wisconsin. For the last 30 years, Country Fest has brought the best live country musicians and bands to the stage, making it the ultimate outdoor summer country festival in the country. Some of the biggest names in country music have graced the festival in the past, such as George Strait, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, Brad Paisley, Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, and more.

Kick off your summer RVing with the Winstock 2017 Country Music Festival.
Taking place June 9th and 10th in Winsted, Minnesota, 2017’s lineup features star headliners and plenty of other country music performers. Keith Urban and Lynyrd Skynyrd will be there, along with Little Big Town and Brantley Gilbert. Other acts include Locash, Drake White & the Big Fire, Tucker Beathard, Lindsay Ell, Runaway June, Brooke Eden, and Ryan Hurd. Local acts include Chris Hawkey, Dylan Jakobsen, Shane Martin, and Copperhead Creek.
Festival goers can also enjoy food vendors, beverage stalls, and authentic merchandise for both the festival and the musicians and bands in attendance.
General admission tickets are still available at the gate, but reserved seating and VIP tickets are sold out. General admission costs $140 for both days. If you’re coming in a camper, you can stay on the grounds all weekend for $120. Additional vehicles cost $25.

Named in honor of President Theodore Roosevelt, who founded our modern national park system, Theodore Roosevelt National Park is located in the badlands of North Dakota.
Teddy Roosevelt had an intimate relationship with the land that would one day bear his name. He came to the Dakota Territory in 1883 when he was a skinny young man and left a little older and a lot tougher. His adventures in the rugged landscape of North Dakota forever altered his life and, ultimately, the course of the nation.
The park offers visitors scenic drives, over 100 miles of foot and horse trails, wildlife viewing, and opportunities for back country hiking and camping. There are three developed campgrounds for use: Juniper Campground, Cottonwood Campground, and the Roundup Group Horse Campground.
Wildlife viewing is especially popular, as the park is home to many native species, including bison, coyotes, cougars, feral horses, badgers, elk, bighorn sheep, white-tailed deer, mule deer, prairie dogs, golden eagles, sharp-tailed grouse, and wild turkeys.
The park also preserves the history and artifacts of Roosevelt’s time there, including the cabin he lived in and the lands his ranch occupied.

Grand Teton National Park is one of America’s best National Parks, ranking alongside Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Acadia, and Glacier National Parks. The best part is, you can actually get a two for one special when visiting Grand Teton… Yellowstone is actually part of the same park system and is only 10 miles away!
History
The park gets its name from 19th-century French-speaking trappers, who named the mountains les trois tetons, which was later shorted to tetons. The highest peak, Grand Teton, is where the park gets its name. At 13775 feet tall, Grand Teton is almost 850 feet taller than the second highest peak in the range, Mount Owen. The area was prominent among fur trappers through much of the 1800s.
The area was preserved as a National Park in 1929. The adjacent Jackson Hole Valley region was later declared a National Monument in 1943, which was later abolished in 1950 and absorbed into the National Park.
Geography and Wildlife
Besides the obvious mountain range in the park, visitors can also expect to encounter the Snake River, numerous lakes (including the 15 mile Jackson Lake), and a dozen or so small glaciers.
The park supports an almost pristine ecosystem. Animals and plants that have existed since prehistoric times still flourish in the park. There are over a thousand native plants, dozens of mammals, hundreds of birds, and more than a dozen fish species. Though less common, there are also some reptiles and amphibians.
Activities and Recreation
The park is a popular destination for a variety of sports, including mountaineering, hiking, fishing, and camping.
Mountaineers will have numerous climbing options that range numerous skill levels. Hikers have over 200 miles of trails that they can explore. Fishing in the region is world-renowned for its trout fishing.

If you’re always on the lookout for the next place to take your RV, PleasureLand RV Center is here to give you a suggestion: Maplewood State Park. The park sprawls over 10,279 acres and attracts over 100,000 visitors annually. Maplewood sits on a series of high tree-covered hills that provide visitors with striking vistas of small, clear lakes nestled in deep valleys.
Maplewood State Park features eight major lakes and numerous ponds, offering water lovers places to enjoy their water sports, like swimming, fishing, and boating. The lakes offer plenty of sandy beaches and recreation areas on the shore for sunbathing, grilling, and picnicking.
Drive along the park’s scenic route to view the flora and fauna in the park, including 150 bird species and 50 species of mammal, including deer, beavers, racoon, squirrels, rabbits, and chipmunks. The trails are also a great way to see the wildlife while you hike, horseback ride, or cross-country ski (in the colder months).
Spring through fall, the park is “dressed” with displays of trillium, hepatica, bloodroot, yellow lady’s slipper, wild onion, prairie rose, and showy milkweed. If you go in the fall, the park turns into a fall wonderland with brilliant shades of orange, gold, and red.
The park is located 7 miles east of Pelican Rapids on State Highway 108.
