When you’re traveling in your RV on the open road, you’re subject to plenty of freedom and independence. That independence means that you need to be able to handle problems yourself, if they arise. It’s part of the territory. To that end, there are certain tools that are pretty much required for RV travel. You may never need them, but you could be really sorry one day if you don’t have them aboard.
Tire Gauge
This one’s going to get used frequently. A tire gauge allows you to monitor the air pressure of your tires and to keep them at optimal levels as you travel. Properly inflated tires are more resilient, last longer, and will provide you with better fuel economy, which an RVer can appreciate.
Axe
A quality axe provides a multitude of useful functions around any RV site or campground. From cutting up wood for a fire to clearing debris, an axe is never dead weight. Consider packing it or a hatchet when you go out hiking. If you get lost somehow, it’s among the most useful items you can have.
Multi-bit Screwdriver

An AC/DC Universal Laptop Charger

An RV is more than just a recreational vehicle to get you to different destinations. It is your car, living space and bedroom combined that you take everywhere you go. Since you sometimes spend a large amount of time inside your RV, you want it to make it into the most comfortable vehicle on the road while showing the world that this RV belongs to you. Here are some ways to personalize your RV.
1) Stellar Paint Job: Break out the airbrush and the stencils as you let your imagination go wild. Personalize your RV with a mural, your company logo or just a unique style by giving it a paint job. You can paint just the back of the RV, the side or the entire vehicle with your creative vision. The great thing about this customization is that if you get bored with the design, just paint over it again.

Exterior Sealant To Protect Your Paint Job
Start with a protective coating to keep paint from fading and flaking away. The UV rays from the sun and moisture both work to strip away layers of color. The high gloss finish that offers basic protection against the weather, but normal conditions will eventually remove that finish. The sealant protects both the underlying paint and the top coat over it. Sticky deposits like bird waste and pine sap won’t bond permanently with the walls of your RV if you add an extra layer of sealant with our service. When it comes to safe RV excursions, whether locally or for extended trips, PleasureLand’s inventory of well maintained recreational vehicles along with a selection of quality new vehicles make PleasureLand RV Center the “go-to” place for safety and comfort. While it’s important your transportation is serviced and capable of making a trip, it’s equally important to protect your family with their own first aid checklist.
Kit Preparation
You know the needs of your family, so start with vital items for those with mild allergies to insect stings or for those who have issues with pollen from flowering plants, trees and flowers. For anyone who has extreme allergic reactions to stings from bees, wasps or any other biting insect, check with your doctor before leaving so you’ll have enough medicine and needles for the duration of your vacation in case of an emergency. It’s also a good idea to have a new prescription to take along in case you need to refit the kit.
Basic Items
Band-aids are at the top of the list for blisters on heels and toes after a day of hiking or when someone cuts a finger or gets a splinter that needs removing. Bring along an assortment of band-aids in different sizes to fit most any minor situation. Waterproof band-aids are also a good idea for travelers planning water activities.

If you properly winterized your RV at the end of the last camping season, it should have made it through the winter with minimal damage or wear and tear. However, you’ve got to flush out the anti-freeze compounds and dust off the exterior before you hit the road again. Picking up a few extra accessories and cleaning products will make the entire process much easier. Add these four handy additions to your RV care tool chest are for year round use as well. Onan Fuel System Cleaner
It’s easy to remember to wipe down the shade screens and sweep the floors inside the RV when you open it up for the first time in a few months. However, don’t overlook the cleanliness of the engine while you tidy up the rest of it. This spray cleaner removes deposits and build up from the carburetor. This debris reduces the power of the engine, especially when you need it to climb a steep hill as you explore your favorite national parks. Using this handy spray to clean up the carburetor is a great way to tune up your engine before setting out in the spring.
Rubber Roof Cleaner and Protectant
Even many of the best motorhomes produced today feature solid rubber roofs to protect the top of the RV from falling branches or flying road debris. This rubber is susceptible to fading and hardening when exposed to constant UV rays from the sun. Mildew growing on the surface can also cause it to deteriorate. Use this dual purpose cleaner and protectant to clean away grime from last year while giving the roof an extra boost of protection from moisture and sunlight.
Connector Cleaner
Driving without proper electrical connections to your towed trailer or vehicle puts you and your RV at risk for an accident. Each state also has regulations regarding the lights that must be displayed on a towed vehicle, with punishments costing hundreds of dollars in fines. Toss this tough connector cleaner in your towing box to clean off the electrical connectors each time you prepare to tow. The stiff wire bristles knock off any dirt, corrosion or rust that would impede the transfer of your signals to the trailer or vehicle. This can eliminate the chance of your lights giving out as you are rolling down the road and unaware of the problem.
Fresh Tabs
Draining your fresh water tank at the end of the season is the best way to prevent freezing. You can quickly prepare to use it again by dropping in a few of these quick water cleaning tablets with the first rinse of water. Whether you are a seasonal
Minnesota RV enthusiast
, or have taken to the full timing RV lifestyle, you may find yourself having to log in a few work hours here and there during your excursions. Even though you might be able to leave the office behind this summer and take a few days off, you may not be able to completely leave the work load at home. It is important to have a designated space aboard your rig in order to stay organized and successfully complete any work duties. The Fun Times Guide has provided a list of a few things you may need to have a well equipped RV office.
Designated Office Area . You should find an area that you can set up all of the necessary components needed to efficiently get work done. This space should preferably be away from the common areas and places that get a lot of usage from your passengers. If you simply can’t find a place that is out of the way due to limited space, try to close off your RV office with a makeshift divider like a curtain or screen of some sort.
Cell Phone. While most of us already have a cell phone that we plan on taking with us, you may not have the right plan set up for travel. You will want to get with your cell phone provider and find a plan that has unlimited long distance and roaming anywhere in the country. That way you can talk on the phone for however long you like, however far away you may travel, without additional fees.
Laptop Computer. If you should need to access the internet while RVing in a remote area, get an internet air card that can be installed on your laptop. While you can access a WiFi network at most hotels restaurants and sometimes truck stops, you won’t always find one nestled in a secluded area of a campground.
Wireless Printer. If you plan on needing a printer while working from your RV, it is wise to get one that multitasks and allows for printing, scanning and copying. Set it up wirelessly to your laptop and you can print from anywhere in your RV or even outside your RV if in proper range.
