About the Fair
The Minnesota State Fair will take place from Aug. 27 to Sept. 7, and we’ll be there every single day. The fairgrounds are open from 6 a.m. to midnight, and there’s far more to see than our discounted RVs.
The event is packed with competitions, contests, live music, rides, shopping, parades, games and tons of other family-friend entertainment. Regular fair time admission is just $13 for adults and $11 for kids ages 5 to 12. Kids under the age of 5 get in free.
The Minnesota State Fair features a campground, so you can park your RV on-site and spend days exploring the grounds. The fairgrounds are located at 1265 Snelling Ave. N., in St. Paul. We look forward to experiencing the excitement of the 2015 Minnesota State Fair with you.

Your RV is your home on wheels, and there’s no reason it shouldn’t feel as comfortable as the brick-and-mortar home you left behind. Follow these three simple tips to turn your motorhome, travel trailer or fifth wheel into a comfortable and cozy oasis.
1. Adjust Your Lighting
Not all RVs come with intelligent and decorative lighting systems. Take the time to find LED lights in a color and brightness that suit your preferences and use them in place of your overhead and reading lights. Additionally, opt for candles or flameless LED candles for mood lighting at night and whenever you don’t want bright lights shining in your vehicle.
2. Decorate Like Home
You don’t have to live with the outdated or unattractive interior that came with your RV when you purchased it. Don’t be afraid to remove undesirable carpeting and replace it with a color or texture you enjoy. RV enthusiasts can also transform RV interiors with simple and affordable additions like new rugs, bedding, towels and throw pillows.
In addition to buying new soft goods, hanging pictures, adding decor pieces and placing a few plants around your RV can really add a touch of home. Just remember to secure your items before hitting the road.
3. Use Quality Dishes

The RV lifestyle is relaxing and invigorating — until you run out of water. Whether you’re camping in the wilderness with a limited amount of water for your stay or are simply trying to enjoy a greener RV lifestyle, these five tips will help you conserve water on your RV excursions.
Don’t Run Water to Wash Dishes
After living in a home with a seemingly endless water supply, it’s easy to slip into the habit of running water when you wash your dishes. Instead, keep a wide container in your sink and fill it with soapy water. Wash your utensils and other items in the dish, then dump the dishwater and replace it with rinse water. Rinse the items in the dish, then set them out to dry.
Be Conscious in the Shower
Showers are typically relaxing in brick-and-mortar homes, but they’re not as luxurious on the road. Always turn off the water while you apply soap to your body and shampoo your hair, then turn the water back on for a short amount of time to rinse. If you’re headed into the wilderness for a while, bring a couple of additional Coleman Solar Shower bags full of clean water for showering as well.
Use Your Resources
Always keep your surroundings in mind when choosing a perfect campsite or camping destination. Park near a river or lake whenever possible to use it for bathing and washing clothing. But don’t let the stress of downsizing your belongings or travel supplies keep you from hitting the road. These three simple and cost-effective items will help you organize your RV, so you enjoy all of your favorite comforts and conveniences on the road.
Use Shoe Organizers Wherever You Can
Hanging shoe organizers can be used in various areas of your RV. Hang one on the back of your bathroom door to hold bathroom supplies. Hang one in the pantry to organize your cleaning supplies, and of course, hang one in your bedroom to organize your shoes, socks and other small items. Many travelers even cut the shoe organizers into sections, so they can use them in more compact spaces.
Use Clear Shoe Boxes to Keep Clothing in Place
Shoe boxes are undeniably handy (and cheap) ways to keep your RV organized. An RV is more than just a recreational vehicle to get you to different destinations. It is your car, living space and bedroom combined that you take everywhere you go. Since you sometimes spend a large amount of time inside your RV, you want it to make it into the most comfortable vehicle on the road while showing the world that this RV belongs to you. Here are some ways to personalize your RV.
1) Stellar Paint Job: Break out the airbrush and the stencils as you let your imagination go wild. Personalize your RV with a mural, your company logo or just a unique style by giving it a paint job. You can paint just the back of the RV, the side or the entire vehicle with your creative vision. The great thing about this customization is that if you get bored with the design, just paint over it again.
2) Make Storage Simple: Although RV travel trailers offer all the type of amenities to allow you to cook and sleep in comfort, sometimes storage space can be limited when you are trying to carry all the things to make an RV into a moving home. Simplify your storage problems by utilizing sturdy racks and containers specifically made for an RV. An aluminum laundry rack in the bathroom can can keep towels and other bathroom items secure when driving over bumpy roads. If you have a toy hauler, you can increase storage space by adding sliding rails to the garage ceiling and hanging storage containers.

Come to PleasureLand RV Center and pick up your recreational vehicle to get ready for the summer
vacation. While you are packing along all the necessities, don’t forget about the following must-have items that you should have for any emergency.
Keep Hydrated: Fresh water is essential to have on any trip you take during the summer whether it is a weekend trip or you will be having fun for several weeks at a time. Bring along plenty of fresh water to drink after strenuous activities so you are properly hydrated.
Bring The Right Clothing: Having the right type of clothing can protect you from whatever type of weather you will face at your destination. Wear loose-fitting, light clothes to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays. Bring along a sweater if you are camping at mountain heights where the nights may be cooler, and stow away a rain jacket for those wet days. Don’t forget to bring enough footwear with you. You should have at least a pair of hiking boots when walking the trails, sneakers to wear around camp, and old shoes that you won’t mind getting muddy.
Summer Activities: If you are camping at a destination that isn’t close to a resort or recreational park, you will have to come up with fun games that the family can play. Frisbees and soccer balls can get bodies active outside. Make sure to have plenty of flashlights to play flashlight tag at night or make shadow puppets against the side of your motorhome. Have board games, playing cards and portable video games handy on rainy days when you have to stay in the RV or tents until the weather gets better.
Emergency Kits: One of the first things you should pack is a first-aid kit filled with all the necessities. Remember to pack the bandages, scissors, tape, gauze, antiseptic spray, bug spray and sunscreen lotion as well as other essentials to help in an emergency. In addition to the first-aid kit, also pack a travel kit in case something happens to your RV while on the road. Your road kit should have emergency numbers for roadside assistance, blankets, flashlights, jumper cables, roadside flares, motor oil, antifreeze, tools such as screwdrivers and wrenches, car jack, rags and other items to help if your vehicle break downs on the side of the road.
By packing all the things you need on your summer trip, you will be prepared for whatever lies in store for you. Have a fun adventure and make sure there are batteries in the camera so you can take tons of photos of your great trip.
